NHSIE Annual Neighborhood Dreams: Building a New Blueprint Fundraiser

We are thrilled about the success of our much-anticipated NHSIE Neighborhood Dreams Building A New Blueprint gala that took place, Thursday, October 19th, 2023. We came together to celebrate our shared vision for a more robust, more vibrant neighborhood.

At this remarkable gathering, we were delighted to see how attendees engaged with the community and explored the dreams, ideas, and aspirations that make our neighborhood such a vibrant and inspiring place. It is NHSIE’s mission to create opportunities for homeownership through building sustainable communities of choice and bridging the housing affordability gap. With the sole belief in the right, to experience the stability and freedom that homeownership brings to a community.

Highlights of the Evening Included:

  • Inspiring Stories: We heard from individuals whose lives have been touched by NHSIE’s initiatives and discovered the real impact of our collective efforts.
  • Visionary Keynote: We gained insights from visionary leaders within the Inland Empire Community who are paving the way for a brighter future, and learn how we can all contribute to this new blueprint.

Your Contribution Matters

By donating, you are directly contributing to the transformative projects and programs that NHSIE spearheads, including some of our initiatives such as the Jack Hill Initiative, Project GROW, and Smart Start.

Named after one of the founding members of NHSIE, Jack Hill was a war veteran, successful businessman, and the first African-American President of the San Bernardino Chamber of Commerce. Dedicated to making homeownership more achievable for people of color in the Inland Empire community, he co-founded NHSIE more than 40 years ago. Through NHSIE’s new Jack Hill Initiative, NHSIE will specifically promote homeownership and wealth-building among African-American residents in the Inland Empire.

Many people are in a constant state of financial vulnerability, spending more than they earn, not having savings or a rainy-day fund, relying on payday loans, racking up exorbitant credit card debt, and struggling to make ends meet. NHSIE wants to reverse this tide of financial vulnerability by reaching out to young people on the brink of adulthood and arming them with financial knowledge and resources that put them on a path to stability, financial resilience, and homeownership.

Project GROW (Generating Real Opportunities for Wealth): This initiative will promote the adoption and aid of innovative alternatives that support increasing the supply of affordable housing. We recognize that home prices in the Inland Empire are skyrocketing and that we need to identify more affordable housing options for LMI families. Project GROW uses a think tank-like approach to gain formal endorsements by cities, local agencies, financial institutions, and housing development products in an effort to build strong partnerships for growth. In addition, the GROWTH Fund, a regional investment venture established to draw the financing necessary to build/develop proposed projects, projects will include ADU development, modular or manufactured housing products as well as unique special-purpose programs and lending products.

Your generosity will help us take strides toward a future where everyone within the Inland Empire Community has access to safe, affordable housing and the opportunities to thrive.

Together, we build. Together, we thrive.
